Beijing to Apply 72-hour Visa-free Policy from 1st Jan 2013

From 1st Jan. 2013, Beijing is going to offer the foreign tourists a visa-free stay of up to 72 hours while in transit in Beijing. At present, the foreign tourists can only have a maximum stay of 24 hours and cannot leave the airport.

According to the new policy, the passengers from 45 countries transiting through Beijing Capital International Airport can enjoy the extended visa-free entry. The countries are:

European schengen visa agreement states (24): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Other European countries (7): Russia, The United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine. American countries (6): The United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile. Oceania countries (2): Australia, New Zealand. Asian countries (6): Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar.
