Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail is expected to be fully connected and open in late 2012 with the operation of Zhengzhou-Wuhan section in July and Shijiazhuang-Zhengzhou section by the end of this year. By then, the train transfer time between Beijing and Guangzhou will be greatly shortened to 8 or 9 hours from 21 hours.
