Beijing to Construct New Airport in 2014

Construction of a new airport in south Beijing will start in February 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018. The new airport is located in the Daxing district, over 40 km south of Beijing city center. Upon completion, it is expected to ease the burden of the current Capital International Airport, the second-busiest airport in the world. New urban subway lines linking to the Daxing airport will also be built.
