"The Center of Heaven and Earth" Added to the World Heritage List

Dengfeng monuments, was added to the World Heritage List at the 34th session of the World Heritage Committee in Brasilia, capital of Brazil.
The monuments, named "The Center of Heaven and Earth", is the complex of 11 main buildings, including Shaolin Temple, the Observatory, Songyang Academy, Taishi Towers and Zhongyue Temple, etc. They have arisen on Mount Songshan at Dengfeng in central Henan province for over two thousand years and vividly present the most complete ancient China architecture civilization as well as the philosophy, customs and scientific development of the country.
