First High-speed Train to Xinjiang to Run by End 2014

Xinjiang section of Lanzhou-Urumqi high-speed railway started its system integration test on 3rd, June, getting closer to the commercial operation by the end of 2014. At a top speed of 250 km/h, the opening of the high-speed train will shorten the travel time between Lanzhou and Urumqi from 16 hours into 9 hours. The 1, 776 km high-speed railway linking Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces, will cover 31 stops, including Lanzhou West, Xining, Zhangye, Jiuquan, Kumul, Turpan and Urumqi.
