Forbidden City Closed Every Monday From 2014

Forbidden City has extended its closure from the present Monday afternoon to the entire day to have better maintenance of the architectural and cultural relics and service facilities. However, in summer vacation (1st Jul. to 31st Aug.) and the public holidays, Forbidden City will still be opened on Mondays and even extend the opening hours to accommodate the surging tourists. The Monday closure had been applied in 1980s and yet later was abolished for the growing visitors.
