Forbidden City Opens Half an Hour Earlier During Summer Holiday

From July 5 to August 24, Forbidden City opens daily at 08:00, half an hour earlier than usual, and closes at 17:00. This early opening measure is to accommodate the summer holiday crowds. And the Palace Museum also sets up dedicated channels for tour groups from designated travel companies and the visitors with online visit reservation. Statistics show that Forbidden City's visitor flow usually peaks during 10:00-13:00; so if possible, it is advised to avoid visiting during this time to beat the crowds.
