Hotel Price Drops in Hong Kong and Macau

The sharp drop of the guests caused by the financial crisis also has triggered the decrease of the hotel occupancy rate. Therefore, in order to activate the tourism market, the Hong Kong and Macau hotels will break the routine of holiday price rise by maintaining the same weekend price during May holiday. Hotel prices of Macau and Hong Kong averagely will fall by 20% compared with that of last May holiday. For example, the 3 star hotel falls from the highest 580 CNY to 420 CNY, 4 star hotel from 650 CNY to 550 CNY while the 5 star drops from 1,050 CNY to 750 CNY, etc. The 10% price drop contributes to the soaring reservations of 3 and 4 star hotels, some of which even have been fully booked up two week in advance. Travel agency advises that it is wiser for the Macao-bound travelers to arrange the travel plan and the hotels in advance.
