Guilin Drought Takes Its Toll

Published on November 06, 2009 by Irene

Drought attacked Li River

The high temperature and little rainfall in the past 3 month have trapped Guilin in drought ahead of time. The water level of Li River has declined considerably. Total rainfall was just 11mm in October and November, only 10% of that in an average year. And the rainfall in the upper reach area of Li river was also unsatisfactorily little and worsened the river drought situation. Many picturesque water views have vanished and been replaced by the exposed river bed, making some sections of the river cruise inaccessible.
