Published on September 26, 2013 by Barbara

The first mahjong museum will be relocated to Chengdu from Chiba-ken of Japan, according to the agreement signed on 12th Sept., 2013 by related Chinese and Japanese officials. The museum, founded by Mr. Noguchi in April 1999, has gathered more than 30, 000 collections about mahjong culture, including the noted royal mahjong played by the last emperor Puyi. In 2010, Mr. Noguchi had passed away and his last wish was moving the mahjong museum back to China. With joint efforts of two sides, finally Chengdu was selected as the relocation city for the museum.
