Tibet is going to celebrate its 60th anniversary of peaceful liberation in mid to late July of 2011. Many celebration activities like the grandest Potala Palace Square parade will be held. Tibet anniversary celebration period happens to be the local peak travel season (June-Sept.) when the tourists swarm in for the fair weather and some special festivals like Shoton Festival, horse race festival, etc. Thus an early reservation is advised for the travelers of July.
