Tibet Closed Since 1st June 2012

Tibet Tourism Bureau has stopped accepting application for Tibet Travel Permit since 1st June. Today it is said that TTB has just started issuing permit to visitors from Taiwan and this autonomous region is expected to fully re-welcome overseas tourists in next weeks. But according to the worsening status (basic tour group size with same nationality has been increased from 2 to 6 ) so far since April, virtually the first opening of Tibet tourism to overseas visitors this year, things are not looking rosy, there will be more tighter restrictions on the number of foreign visitors brought into effect.
