Published on July 02, 2010 by Lori

With an average altitude of 4,500 meters, Ngari Kunsha Airport, ranked as the world's 3rd highest-altitude airport, was officially put into service on July 1st.

Ngari is about 1, 600 km, namely over-3 days-driving-distance, far from Lhasa. And now there are two flights every week flying from Chengdu to Ngari Kunsha with a stopover at Lhasa Gonggar Airport. Via a 1.5-hour flight from Lhasa, passengers then can extend their plateau natural landscape experience and learn about the rich history in Ngari.
