Floods of Overseas Tour Groups Will Enter Tibet Successively

On April 4th, 2009, a German tour group with 11 tourists arrived in Tibet and started their 6-day Tibet trip. This was the first overseas tour group entering Tibet after Tibet resumed receiving inbound tourists.

This German tour group was organized by Tibet Changdu International Travel Agency. They took train in Xining along Qingzang railway, and reached Lhasa at 9:40 p.m. They toured the Potala Palace on the next day morning and then the Norbulingka in the afternoon.

In the following days, the tour group will also visit Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, the Yamdrok Tso Lake, the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse area and Everest Mount, and head towards Nepal through Camphor Wood Port on April 9th.

A chief of the Tibet Travel Bureau said, overseas tour group was suspended in March. But as the safety and peace recovering in Tibet, all travel agencies, tourism resorts, hotels and tour guides have already made good preparation to receive tour group, and warmly welcome the overseas tourists.

According to the reporter, Tibet will receive more than 200 overseas tour groups and more than 500 overseas tourists can enjoy the plateau scenery in Tibet in April.
