Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge To Open

Published on Jul 18, 2016 by Barbara

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, about 39 km from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, is going to open the world's longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge soon in the second half of the year.

This glass-floored bridge, spanning between two cliffs, will be 430 meters long and 300 meters above the valley. The skywalk, envisioned to hold fashion shows, will be able to accommodate up to 800 people at a time. It will also offer the highest bungee jump of its kind in the world.

The bridge recently has conducted safety tests in which a group of volunteers hit the glass floor with sledgehammers and then a SUV drove across on the cracked glass.
