Want to update your stereotyped impression about the Australia--a land of Kangaroo, Koala and desert? Then the Australia Pavilion will be the perfect gateway to a new vivid Australia. Australia Pavilion, located on the banks of the Huangpu River in downtown Shanghai, has the self-sealing steel and highly durable steel façade that can keep up with the Shanghai climate by developing an increasingly deep, red-ochre color, evocative of the Australian outback to manifest the harmony of human and nature and well respond to Shanghai theme.
In Australia Pavilion, you can see, hear and taste Australia in the three captivating acts--Journey, Discover and Enjoy:
Journey: The first act is a 160 meter long glass-enclosed ramp wrapping around the pavilion. This time tunnel showcases Australia's diverse cultures of Australia's European or Aboriginal History in its 6 six exhibition elements.
Discover: After the warm-up in Journey area, you will enter the core area of pavilion where stands a 1,000-person capacity theatre-in-the-round to pamper your ears and eyes with the spectacular audio-visual experience. The short video reviews the familiar Australia symbols like the jumping kangaroo, exuberant plants as well as the well-known cities while it also helps you discover the real lifestyle of the Australian on this magic-filled land.
Enjoy: In the Enjoy area, you can immerse yourself in the fun feast. The daily grand art and the cultural shows will also merrily greet your eyes and ears while your taste buds happily dance in the Australian authentic cuisines and drinks. You can also take some souvenirs back home to revive the merriment in the retail areas
When you linger in the pavilion, prepare a hi and smile to the Peng Peng--the mascot of the pavilion that may greet you with its distinct laughter.
