The fabulous views along the journey road always take our breath away, but something annoying casts shadow on the scene enjoyment. When taking in the breathtaking beauty, we should also consciously give back by some little consideration: throwing the trash in an appropriate way (even if the local don't act this way, but your practice may educate them), conserving the water and turning off the lights when you leave the room are really minor things. But all great differences start from these small changes. The nature beauty deserves our effort to protect it and make it last. The following program is exactly what our company is trying to make a difference, for you, and the environment.

One Tree Program

Rich in cultural and biological diversity, the Lashi Lake watershed is home to two minority ethnic groups, the Naxi and the Yi, and provides a critical habitat for the endangered black-necked crane. The watershed is also the primary water supply to a large downstream population and the booming tourism in the historic city of Lijiang. In recent years, the Lashi Lake watershed has been seriously degrading. The natural forest in the upland parts of the watershed is being cleared for agricultural use and for wood-burning stoves, resulting in soil erosion, flood, and chemical pollution of the lake. Rare and endangered birds are being over-hunted, and the productivity of the area's fishery is starting to decline. Our conservation strategy is working with the Yunnan EcoNetwork (YEN) to develop an ecotourism project that allows tourists to view wildlife in the nature reserve, learn about the cultural traditions of the minority Naxi and Yi people, and trek through the upland areas on the slopes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. If you like, you can join in the sapling volunteer program to plant a tree by the lake, your contribution will be highly appreciated by the locals and the Chinese government.

Green Tips:

1  Switch off the lights, air conditioner or heater, and the electric equipment in your room while you're     out. Operate your air conditioner or heater on the moderate temperature.
2  When you're touring a park or any natural beauty, please don't disturb the plants or wildlife.
3  Please keep the trash until you find a rubbish can, and if possible, keep your recyclable trash for a     recycling drop-off.
