Fairmont Peace Hotel Shanghai has a nice location: a short stroll from the Bund and Nanjing Pedestrian Road, a 5-minute walk from the subway, a short taxi drive from the city main attractions like Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Museum. It is a 20 -minute drive from Hongqiao Airport and 40-minute from Pudong International Airport.
The hotel, built in 1929 in the Art Deco style, was reopened in 2010 after a 3-year renovation with historically accurate details and modern facilities. The hotel gallery tells its own history in its rich original collections. And the Jazz bar with the old Jazz band is also a no miss to experience jazz pieces of the 1930s and 40s. Rooms are comfortable with big bed, flat TV, fully-equipped bathrooms well as high-speed internet access. Garden or city views are available from the rooms.
