Six new airlines between Shangri-la and Xishuangbanna opened up on August 7, 2009, and will be officially launched on September 1st this year. Therefore, tourists who want to visit both the Shangri-la (the northwestern of Yunnan province) and Xishuangbanna (the southwest of Yunnan province) can only take few-hour air trip from Kunming. The tourists could sample the minority people's colorful culture and custom of Tibetan, Lisu, Naxi, etc. together with the unique natural landscape of boreal coniferous forest in Shangri-la or the mysterious culture and hospitality of Dai people as well as the tropical rain forest landscape in Xishuangbanna.
