Forbidden City to Carry out Three Measures to Ease Peak Flow

Forbidden City decides to carry out three measures to manage visitors and ease peak flow so as to protect the ancient architecture, cultural relics of the museum.

The first measure is to issue annual tickets. An annual ticket valid for 10 visits costs RMB 300 for the adult and RMB 150 for the elderly and student.

The second one is to offer free open day. On the first Wednesday of the month from November of 2014 to April of 2015, six groups including teachers, medical practitioners, voluntary workers, soldiers, police and college students can enjoy free open day. A maximum of 10, 000 people will be allowed for appointment on each free open day.

The third measure is to offer half-price ticket for the afternoon visitors after 14:00. Forbidden City will try this new discount ticket from September 12 to 14.
