The passengers now need to pass the real-name authentication to use the Wi-Fi service for free at the Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao airports. After the security check, the users can get the password for the network by texting a free message or scanning their identity card. Free printed instructions on how to use the Wi-Fi services are provided in the airports. The free Wi-Fi covers the airports' waiting area, VIP waiting hall and delay terminal of T1 and T2.

Pudong airport's network name is SPI-A-guest (Airport Free Wifi) and Hongqiao network name is SHA-Airport-Free Wifi.
