Published on December 10, 2012 by Lori

Harbin-Dalian high-speed train opened on 1st December, 2012. It is the first high-speed train line in the world running through frigid regions. The 921-km line connects main northeastern cities like Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang and Dalian.

For safety sake, the train in early operation runs at a winter speed of 200 km/h from 1st Dec. to 31st Mar. and summer speed of 300 km/h from 1st Apr. to 30th Nov. So the passengers can reach Harbin from Dalian in less than 6 hours in winter and 3 hours in other times from the original 10 hours. The whole-journey ticket charges RMB 456/person for first class seat and RMB 285/person for second class.
