Beijing New Wild Walls in the Tourism Blueprint

Published on December 08, 2009 by Irene

Huanghuacheng Great Wall

Beijing Cultural Department stated that two or three new wild walls including Huanghuacheng section will be developed and opened officially to the public in the next 5 years. In fact, some of these unrestored wild walls are quite popular with tourists especially some explorers from home and abroad. About 200,000 to 300,000 tourists are lured to Huanghuacheng Great Wall over the year.

With little supervision, the wild walls are fragile and not visitor-friendly. It is frequent to see that the visitors who make the bold to climb the wall suffer from the accident troubles. And some parts of the wild walls suffer from damages of different level for the tourists' wrong approach.

After two-year general census, cultural departments are working on integrated and protecting planning to the wild walls rather than merely setting up a weak warning sign. They will conserve them and make them suitable for tourism in the next 5 years.
