Potala Palace Has Extended Opening Hours in High Season

To accommodate the surge of visitors in peak tourist season, Potala Palace Scenic Area has extended its opening time to run from 07:30 to 18:40, compared with 09:00 to 16:40 in low season.
On the other hand, from July, Potala also started to limit the number of daily visitors to 4, 000 to reduce the potential damage to this lumber-and-dirt structure. About 100 visitors are admitted to the palace every 20 minutes and stay for most 1 hour.
