Shangri-la to Have 5 National Parks

Published on December 05, 2009 by Irene

Shangri-la in spring

Yunnan Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture will build Shangri-La Meili Snow Mountain National Park and Shangri-la Snub-Nosed Monkey National Park. These two parks together with the Shangri-La Pudacuo National Park which opened two years ago will make the first project national parks in the five Tibetan-inhabited areas in China. When the condition is perfect, the three national park first project will be expanded with another two new parks--Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge National Park and Shangri-La Grand Canyon National Park to make Shangri-La the most characteristic international tourism destination in the Chinese Tibetan-inhabited areas and world-class boutique ecological tourist area.
