Shigatse Airport started to operate on 30th Oct. as Tibet's fifth civil airport to accommodate the increasing tourists and improve the air transportation network in the southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
There are by far 5 civil airports in Tibet, namely Shigatse Airport, Lhasa Gonggar Airport, Qamdo Bangda Airport, Nyingchi Airport and Ngari Airport.
